This cafe restaurant bar is in a quiet and scenic courtyard in the center of Basel, right next to Basel GGG public library. It is a great place to spend an afternoon alone or with friends. Not to mention that they open until 11pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Good restaurant which is led by one of the best ones in town (Teufelhof). It serves delicious food for a medium price (Swiss standards :) ). In order to find it you can go to Marktplatz where the city hall (Rathaus the red building) is located. From there ask some locals to guide you to the backyard called "Schmiedenhof".

This place has great beer garden-style outdoor space, serves up good pub grub and drinks. Especially good for large groups as there's something on the menu for everyone, including vegetarians.
