Amager Fælled, which was previously used as a military training area, is now a protected area, with lots of nature and animal experiences for everyone. Amager Fælled currently comprises 223 ha. Lakes as well as meadows and bogs on Amager Fælled are protected by the Nature Conservation Act § 3 and 16. The forest areas have Peace Forest status. In 1990, the southwestern part was protected together with the southern Kalvebod Fælled. The area, which was the land zone part, is roughly delimited to the northeast by the old coastline. At that time, Ørestad was part of Amager Fælled. Amager Fælled is owned by the City of Copenhagen and part of the Amager Nature Park. And is the last urban, uncivilized and natural natural area. However, also an endangered area, as the City of Copenhagen has big plans to use the area for asphalt and concrete, so that the population growth in Copenhagen can be even greater. Pt. Amager Fællede is popularly called "Københavns Lunge" and if it is, too disappears, it becomes difficult for the city and its citizens to breathe.
