Be ready for the smell where they dye the natural leathers in what resembles a huge paint pot. Located north of the medina it can be a bit difficult to find but it’s fairly close to the Ben Ibn Youssef school. 🐢 9 minutes walk from Riad Zemrani - perhaps download maps to your phone and follow the dot to make it easier to find.

The tanneries of Marrakech are still run the way they were run 100's of years ago. This place will make you feel like you have stepped back in time. Somewhat of a smelly experience in a slightly rougher part of the medina. Not for the faint hearted.

Isolé des souks de la ville, le quartier des tanneurs est endroit pittoresque de Marrakech, où on découvre les secrets de la technique de travail du cuir. Il est situé près de la porte Bab El Sebbagh, à l’est de la Médina.
