A big venue with a basement vibe, a bar at the side of the stage, and comedy stuff on year-round. Every year from January to April, the Musical Comedy Awards competition runs on Saturday afternoons. There’s always a great range of musical and comedic talent. You get some really incredible singers, talented guitarists, pianists. In the first few heats of the Musical Comedy Awards, you can vote on the acts, which makes it fun—the audience feels important. The musical element means it’s a good one for people who don’t speak much English—you can still enjoy the music even if you have no idea what the words are.
