In Bribir, 15 kilometers from the town of Skradin, there is an attractive locality known as Bribirska glavica, the center of the Croatian state in the 13th century and a cultural monument of the highest category. Archaeological site Bribirska glavica (ancient Varvaria and old Croatian Bribir) covers an area of 72,000 square meters and is located at 300 m above sea level. Among archaeologists, this site is known as "Croatian Troy", so it was called by father of Croatian archeology, Fr. Lujo Marun in 1908.
