Known as The Jewel in the Weald for its fine range of historical buildings and history. It contains many individual shops and a plethora of tea shops and restaurants. Tenterden boasts a very wide and splendid main street leading to the nearby village of Small Hythe which was once a very busy shipbuilding port until the silting up of the River Rother.

Town of Tenterden with a lovely high street to stroll around. Lots of gorgeous local shops selling all sorts! 20 minutes drive.

To find out more visit the town’s museum or take a nostalgic ride back in time on the Kent & East Sussex Railway. Admire the countryside as you steam along to Bodiam Castle then visit the 16th-century half- timbered home of the 19th-century Shakespearean actress Dame Ellen Terry and see the sumptuous display of theatrical mementoes. Then take a tour and tasting at nearby Tenterden Vineyard and relax with a glass of wine.
