You have to visit Best Friends when you are in the area! Best Friends is a national animal welfare organization that has a mission to stop the killing of homeless pets in shelters across the country. You are lucky enough to be in Kanab where the heart of the organization is located - the sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to 1600 animals of all species - goat, horse, pig, bird, rabbit, cat, dog, guinea pig, etc. Make sure you take a tour to see all the sights. If you have a free 3 hours, go volunteer!

Such a beautiful Canyon! The Animals you will see here are so sweet, extremely nice people and an unexpected and beautiful Underground Lake!

Free tours daily 8-5pm. Volunteer sessions always available. Dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, pigs, goats, horses, wild animals. Incredible views and lots of interesting places to stop and take in the beautiful canyon.

SAVE THEM ALL!!! Great humanitarians for saving all the animals. I made this post specifically for what they do. Although they offer more than a great sanctuary for helping all animals... They have an incredible ALL YOU CAN EAT lunch 11-1 . It's only $5 but a donation to the society would be great. The views at the cafeteria are monumental. Especially when you are sitting outside to have your vegetarian lunch. Oh yeah... How could they run a legitimate animal sanctuary if they served the animals they are saving.
