I used to live in Peckham and would visit this small, brightly coloured restaurant regularly. It specialises in south Indian food, so has some great vegetarian options and the staff are really knowledgeable. Despite it being a favourite with the country’s top food critics, it still has a really nice neighbourhood feel and exhibits local art. It is a bit pricier than takeaway Indian places, so if you want to try it on a budget, head down at lunch for a simple curry and rice or thali. It’s much cheaper.
