Take the ferry from the Main St Terminal in San Francisco Ferry building. You will enjoy the farmer's market and local wares/food. The ferry serves drinks and snacks.

The ferry to San Francisco - to the iconic SF Ferry Bldg with some boats continuing on to Fisherman's Wharf. Check sanfranciscobayferry.com for schedules

This is the ferry terminal that goes from Alameda to San Francisco. Tickets can be purchased on board but its cheaper if you will ride a few times to get a clipper card at Walgreens with value loaded onto the card.
