Living Free is a nonprofit animal sanctuary whose primary mission is to rescue dogs and cats whose time is up at public shelters. Also home to War Horse Creek, an immersive transition training program using rescued wild mustangs to assist veterans as they adjust to civilian life They offer tours of 5 people or less at a time. Living Free is a dream come true to animals who have been rescued from high kill shelters. They are located on Hwy. 74 near Hwy. 243 in Mountain Center. Here you will see adorable animals looking for forever homes. If you go, please leave a donation as they live on donations.

150 acres to care for rescued animals. Dogs, cats, burros, and wild mustangs call this place home. You can tour the cattery and the dog kennels after checking in at the visitor center. It’s heartwarming :)
