So I know you've heard that Durham has the coolest food scene, which is true. You will find all those great places on Yelp. What you might not find is this classic BBQ dive just up the street from the Cottage. This place is a long-time family owned BBQ joint. I have not lived here long enough to have an informed opinion on the best NC BBQ around, but our neighbors, who have lived here since 1966, say Hog Heaven in North Durham is the way to go, and darn it, I believe whatever they tell me.
