On the way towards Kimtu there is Veterens park. It has a playground, pump track, ball fields, and it hosts the Farmers Market on Thursdays in the summer.

Kimtu Beach is a sandy area along the bank of the Trinity River. This is a popular swimming and non-motorized boating area with locals and visitors alike. There are parking and toilets. For fishing, this area has deep holes and generally slower water with a nice run upstream. Lure and bait best while wading or fishing from clear gravel bar. Gate to launch site is closed for the summer season. Day use fees apply in summer.

Located in Willow Creek, 40 minutes east of Arcata. Excellent swimming spots all along Camp Kimtu Beach which follows the Trinity River. Lovely in the summer time when temperatures can reach the 90’s and all you want to do is be in the water! Great place to bring the family or a group of friends.
