Cheese and chives scones with butter and chutney are wonderful. The soups and sandwiches are good, and all bread is baked within the café. Small outdoor patio area next to bridge and river. Closed on Wednesdays.

Helmsley has around 20 different cafes but this is my absolute favourite. Beautiful food with inspired weekly specials. Its caters especially well for vegetarian/vegan visitors. Open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.
