Not for the faint of heart, this trail begins at the Centerpoint Trailhead and descends straight down to Big Bluff, the tallest bluff along the Buffalo National River at over 500 feet tall. There is a side trail that leads to an outcropping in the bluff called Goat Trail, and it features a fantastic view of the river below. Use extreme caution when hiking the Goat Trail, as it is very narrow and dangerous (not recommended for kids). The climb out to the top is steep and strenuous. 5.9 miles, difficult.

To get there from Misty Hollow Hideaway turn left onto NC 3850 (Low Water Bridge Road) and drive 3 or 4 miles to Hwy 74 and turn left. Go 4 miles to Jasper and and turn right onto Hwy 7 N, cross the Little Buffalo River bridge and then turn left onto Hwy 74 West. Drive 7 or 8 miles to Hwy 43 and turn right. Drive thru the city of Ponca about 5 miles and turn at the Centerpoint Trailhead sign and park at trailhead parking lot. The spur trail to Big Bluff (Goat Trail) is about 2.5 miles where you turn right at a relatively level area at a popular campsite. The Goat Trail which skirts the face of Big Bluff is only 100 yards or so from the Centerpoint Trail. The Goat Bluff Trail provides an amazing view of the Buffalo River but be careful at the edge especially with kids. It's a long steep climb back up to the trailhead so bring plenty of water.
