Place of a crime on which the shadow of a curse is spread, among the villas on the hill of the Observance there is villa Frank, also called villa of Mezzaratta. Here, on 27 October 1921, Adolfo Pasquali discovered the body of a woman, Maria Burani, who had been missing for ten days. Even a century ago, a story that Pasquali knew well, the bodies of a woman and her two daughters had been found in the park of the villa. They had been savagely slaughtered, and the culprit had never been identified.
