San Jose is home to the Museum of Quilts & Textiles. Here you will see various examples of quilts and textiles and celebrate the craft and its history. There is a warm welcome guaranteed at this museum as the staff are happy to talk to you about the various exhibitions and go through the history of the pieces. There are also activities to try that will bring out the artist in every visitor. The exhibitions change on a regular basis to keep you coming back for more.

The San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles is an art museum in Downtown San Jose, California, USA.[1] Founded in 1977, the museum is the first in the United States devoted solely to quilts and textiles as an art form. Holdings include a permanent collection of over 550 quilts, garments and ethnic textiles, emphasizing artists of the 20th- and 21st-century, and a research library with over 500 books concerning the history and techniques of the craft.

The mission of the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles is to promote the art, craft and history of quilts and textiles. Textile art transcends cultural, ethnic, age and gender boundaries and encompasses traditional as well as contemporary forms. The museum provides a serious venue for all artists working with textiles, filling a void left by larger institutions with a narrower view of what defines artistic expression. Its exhibits and programs promote the appreciation of quilts and textiles as art and provide an understanding of their role in the lives of their makers, in cultural traditions, and as historical documents.
