The Isole di Brissago are the two peaks of a hill carved by erosion along the ancient watershed line of the valleys of Ticino and Maggia. In the garden around 2000 species of plants are cultivated coming from the main areas with Mediterranean climate and areas with humid subtropical climate. For the little ones there is also a special treasure hunt
Tip: In Summer, during high season take the public bus that has a station in the front of boat departure by Restaurant Posta in Porto Ronco, or walk, take a bicycle to Porto Ronco from Brissago Center (~3km) to avoid parking stress.
The park of the Brissago Islands is a unique example: in the middle of Lake Maggiore lies a small extraordinary subtropical paradise.
The Brissago Islands are one of Ticino’s most magical places - a small subtropical paradise on Lake Maggiore that is easily accessible by boat from Ascona „ Porto Ronco“ . Thanks to their location, the islands benefit from a particularly mild climate that has facilitated the growth of unique vegetation. Recalling enchanted atmospheres, the landscape is covered in rare majestic trees, luxuriant shrubs, ferns and scented flowers. About 2,000 species of plants from the Mediterranean region, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Oceania populate the park.
