A great picnic spot and when it’s really hot a lovely peaceful place to sit under huge trees and relax away the afternoon! Just been recommended in The Times for its wooded 5 mile circular walk through “ dappled perfection” !!

Just a short drive from Tisbury, this historic castle is set in peaceful grounds beside a beautiful lake. Great for family picnics - children will love exploring the many rooms and playing on the lawn - and country walks in the surrounding woodland.

Old Wardour Castle is set amongst woods by a serene lake. The ruined castle is atmospheric and has a fascinating history. Almost within sight - 5 minute drive or lovely 40 minute walk across the River Nadder.
