A community-owned pub just 3 miles from our accommodation full of character and charm, with log fires, beamed ceilings and pretty gardens. The menu features classic British dishes made with seasonal and home grown produce from the kitchen garden and sourced from local farmers and the bar is well-stocked with a selection of real ales showcasing the best local breweries. Red Lion at High Street, Avebury (01672 539266). Honest pub grub and supposedly haunted. Can get very busy at weekends.
