it's 40 mins drive from Prakriti's Nest. On the walls of the lakhudiyar caves are paintings depicting animals, humans created with fingers in black, red and white. It is a rock shelter which were the rescue spot of early man to save them from harsh climate. These walls depict the life and surrounding of the early man.

This place is 70 Km from our cottage. This is a prehistoric stone age caves and upon the walls of the caves are paintings depicting animals, humans and also tectiforms, created with fingers in black, red and white. There are also a few animal motifs, one of them closely resembling a fox. Wavy lines, rectangle-filledgeometric designs and groups of dots are seen here. These paintings provide one of the richest experiences of Prehistoric art in the country. The caves have become a historically significant site. Unfortunately proper recovery and preservation is pending.

The Lakhudiyar Caves are located in the Barechhina town on the banks of the Suyal River in the Almora District of Uttarakhand, India’s Himalayan state. This palaeolithic site depicts ancient artistic endeavours. Lakhudiyar means “one lakh caves” in Sanskrit. Those who have seen the site, however, may not agree with such a broad characterization. The place is rich in resources like as pure river water and pine trees, and is connected to the state’s Kumaon region via National Highway 309 A, which runs through three districts: Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, and Almora. As a result, it is conveniently accessible and is likely to draw visitors. For more information visit uttarakhandtraveltourism.com
