Future-oriented programs, excellence in research and teaching, numerous partnerships at home and abroad and a unique campus in the countryside dominate the appearance of the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz. As a young university (since 1966) and largest scientific institution in Upper Austria JKU has become in a very short time to a pulse center of science, economy and society. 60 fields of study for more than 19,000 students guarantee a modern and practical education with excellent job prospects. The research achievements of faculties and institutes are recognized worldwide. The Social and Economic Sciences Faculty (SOWI) developed their offerings according to the requirements of national and international quality standards and thus makes an important contribution to the solution of complex social and economic problems. Austria Unique throughout the entire range of social and economic studies will be offered in Linz. The Faculty of Law (RE) has its excellence focus in the public, private and international corporate law. Because transnational collaborations legal issues are raised at the international level. The only Austrian University JKU provides not only the multimedia diploma program Jus to, but has nationwide also one of the most advanced and user-friendly jurisprudential libraries. The Engineering and Natural Sciences (TN) is characterized by its close contacts and cooperation with industry and business from home - and abroad. These have numerous synergies result of which not only teachers but also students benefit. The courses offered at the TN is diverse and interdisciplinary. In addition, the JKU Science Park offers modern infrastructure for teaching and research. New at JKU Linz has 2014 Faculty of Medicine (MED) to the study of human medicine. The first Austrian University of the Johannes Kepler University Linz offers his medical education in bachelor-master system. The bachelor's program is conducted in cooperation with the Medical University of Graz. When completed, the JKU Linz offers 300 annual study places for human medicine.
