FamilyMart Malaysia has maintained the Japanese influence on its stores, but has ensured that a local identity remains with its product offerings. In its ready-to-eat food range, there are onigiri, bentos which provide a Japanese flavour alongside local favourites such as nasi biryani and mee siam, and wholesome items such as salads and sandwiches. It also offers oden, chicken karaage, dim sum and coffee freshly prepared and served over the counter. FamilyMart is extremely famous in countries like Japan, South Korea and Taiwan and it is known for its hot food. Locals and tourists alike would flock to FamilyMart outlets to get basic grocery items, drinks, and food on-the-go such as onigiri (rice balls) and bento (packed rice).
