The gold dome is quite famous, yet a lot do not know what it is exactly. Louis XIV wanted a place where the wounded from his wars would be able to live and be taken care of. After he died in Exile, his remains were finally brought back to Paris years later, and have been there ever since (although some crazy theories exist)
