Located in the village of Valle Crucis, North Carolina, Over Yonder tells the story of Southern Appalachian cuisine from Chef Andy Long. Over Yonder opened in June of 2014 in the former homestead of the Taylor Family, one of the founding families of Valle Crucis. Their mission is to interpret classic Appalachian food in a modern yet casual way, and they do this by sourcing the best product they can and then doing their best "not to screw it up". Everything is scratch-prepared, or as they like to call it, "done the hard and stupid way", and they believe if you give it a try you will taste the difference. PRO TIP: This place is delicious! Pair it with a visit to Mast General Store and hike Crab Orchard Falls hike.

Less than a mile down the road, Southern Cuisine. Our favorites are the Chicken Fried Chicken and Meatloaf! The Crispy Okra Appetizer is a must!

So this is a terrific place to eat. Very farm to table. Food is fresh...cozy atmosphere....if there is a wait...try having a drink on the front porch! This place is in Valle Crucis which is about a 10 minute drive toward Boone.

Local, good, fresh, and very close to home. Limited menu and a higher price point, but delicious and just 2 miles from the camper.
