Patrons of this waterside bar are always friendly and ready to have a good time, especially when the sun is shining. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a popular place to while away a Sunday, so arrive early—they open at 11 am—to guarantee a table. I like to sit outside, either on the patio or the wharf itself, whenever the weather permits. As a vegan, I’m happy to report that they deliver on the food front. The menu changes, but the staff are always happy to accommodate dietary requirements. If you love meat, order the traditional roast on offer every Sunday, served with all the trimmings, of course.

Great place to watch the sunset and have a beer or wine on the jetty of Manly Wharf. Great place to mingle with locals.

If it’s warm and sunny but the nor-easterly wind is blowing straight in, then head over here for an afternoon drink because this (harbour) side of Manly peninsula will be wind still and beautiful. During summertime, the outside wharf area of the hotel is absolutely packed for sunset drinks on Sunday afternoons as well as Friday evenings as everyone has a drink on their way home from their city jobs. On Sunday afternoons, there’s also great laughs to be had watching the SUP ball competition happening in the water next to the wharf.
