Massif de l’Esterel, a coastal volcanic mountain range of red-ochre rocks, is one of the most stunning natural places of the Côte d’Azur. The Massif has lots of good walking trails and is also perfect for cycling and mountain biking. Along the coast road, you can visit small towns and resorts such as Agay, with its sheltered bay and a lovely beach, Le Trayas, and Mandelieu-la-Napoule with its harbor and 14th-century castle. Beautiful red rocks park between Mandelieu and Frejus where you can hike off-season (not in July and August). Many of the hikes end with a stunning sea view that's well worth the effort!
