Blackbeard is a great place to get coffee when you are near uptown. They have a wide selection and do a wonderful job of making each coffee to order by the customer. The atmosphere is great for doing computer work, meeting friends, or enjoying a seated coffee break in between work. I suggest going mid day if you are staying in, but it is always fast and friendly service. I always recommend to locals or new people coming into town.

Blackbeard Coffee is located right in Uptown, so you can visit before or after eating at one of the restaurants in the area. This local coffee joint roasts their beans in house! They also have a small pastry selection from Great Harvest Bread Co. If you're looking for a place to work, they have a couple of indoor seating and tables, but I'd avoid doing work there during peak hours. They're closed on Sundays but open 7am-10pm the rest of the week. *This is located right in Uptown - just drive towards campus down 5th St! There is a public parking lot in Uptown with free parking for 2 hours, so it's a great spot to visit.
